Cave Patio Nights...

I remember still being in Newcastle in 2002 enjoying our final days of the 3 bed semi and being very excited about "patio evenings" you know, beer/glass of wine with some food and good company with the flame of the fire flickering away in the background...

It is something that we enjoy most summer nights and certainly cannot be recreated quite the same way back in blighty. Last week was a bit special as we had what CR Junior calls the "fire stars". We stayed up late until around 3am to observe the shooting stars in the North West. The sky was crystal clear, the company good so we lined up every chair available in front of the burning embers of the BBQ turned off the patio lights and looked skyward..

The stars came in all directions, some small and some very bright leaving trails across the sky. A great and unusual night and quite funny.....

Amongst all the commotion I thought to myself what it would be like to be a fly on the wall - a mixture of English and Spanish individuals all lined up ready to view an outdoor movie shouting and pointing to the sky in unison shouting "SEE THAT ONE!!" every time a star went by in a mixture of languages.

Cave patio nights...Great!
