First stages, the initial line of blocks are sitting on a 3 inch thick concrete foundation. For drainage there is a simple hose which will be adapted to attach to a small pond pump with a sprinkler attachment for watering the garden when the pool is drained - in the campo no water gets wasted.
Taking shape, one block was missed out to allow ease of access. A step is placed on the outside and on the inside too - although the pool will only hold 3ft of water we had to allow for the younger generation who will probably use it the most...!
and then look what happens, we get rained off! And what a storm it was - 6 hours not stop of heavy rain.
More coming up inc: seats in the pool, materials used/waterproofing, and finished effect

Friday June 26th. TVE's Telediario and Desayunos has been full of tormentas and granizos the size of golfballs - 'directo' footage from Andalucia of smashed car windscreens and the corrugated iron roof of a barn roof punched full of holes, and of flooded street and smashed upturned boats in Menorca - but there's nothing in the online papers and TV channels. Please tell me you're all ok?
Mamaduck: Thanks for your concern!:) Nothing that bad this far inland but the rain and hail has been unbelievable, we are all ok and even survived a small earth tremmor last week (it was very small but very loud)
Coo. The things they don't put in the guidebooks! We're across the way from Iran, and occasionally (last November, last month)get the very edge of some of their tremors - so slight that most of us don't know until the newspaper mentions it! Glad you're ok.
